November 25, 2021 – In partnership with Support Ontario Youth, BOLT awards a total of $1,500 in scholarships ($3 x $500) and mentorship to trainees in construction trades who reside within the Greater Toronto Area.
Besides financial support of $500 for classroom training costs, BOLT Women in Construction scholarship recipients also benefit from a dedicated mentor from their trade (or similar) to help provide additional support, share experiences and tips for advancement in the industry.
• Trainee with an Active Registered Training Agreement (RTA).
• Reputable Member with Ontario College of Occupations (OCOT)
• 17-29 years old, a resident of the GTA.
• Financial need can be demonstrated by the evaluation notice, the last social assistance stub, or the last salary stub.
The scholarship is open to all who meet the above criteria, with preference given to first and second year interns.
The Application deadline On December 31, 2021. Successful applicants will be announced in January 2022.
BOLT was launched by Tridel in 2009, and established as a charity in January 2013. It works to “create awareness about the diverse and numerous career opportunities in the construction industry”.
SOY’s mission is to “support apprentices, employers and all stakeholders in the skilled trades industry by streamlining and streamlining the apprenticeship journey”.
